air quality management, ask theory, air pollution, everlyn gayle tamayo

Hosted by EIC Mikael Angelo Francisco, Ask Theory shines the spotlight on Pinoy scientific brilliance, in a fun and entertaining “kwentuhan” format. Each episode of Ask Theory  features a Pinoy scientist from one of the various scientific disciplines. In a very casual conversation, guests explain what they do in simple terms, as well as share their fascinating stories: how they got into science, the challenges they face, what motivates them to pursue their fields, what future scientists from the Philippines can look forward to, and so much more.

Episode 68: Paano Ba Natin Mapagtutulungang Labanan Ang Air Pollution?

Everlyn Gayle Tamayo plays a key role in the development, implementation and review of air quality activities and projects of an international non-profit NGO focused on air quality management by providing technical guidance in current and emerging air quality issues in the region, particularly in air quality monitoring, emissions inventory, health impact assessment, and capacity building. She has a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of the Philippines Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology, and trained through the World Meteorological Organization Global Atmosphere Watch and the European Research Course on Atmospheres.

We talked about air pollution in the Philippines, Philippine policies for air quality management, seemingly normal actions that actually contribute to the air pollution problem, collaborating with government agencies for air quality management, and more.
